The London Marathon...every year at a particular time that's all you hear about. Apparently its a "boss" in the marathon world. So I promised myself that one day, I would check it out...primarily, to see all the runners in their fancy dress.
Well Sunday morning, the weather looked great, my local newspaper was filled with numerous marathon articles, my msn homepage had marathon details splashed across it, so really there was no other choice, but to head in to London to find out what this marathon was really all about.
Do you know how long that marathon is? 26 1/2 miles, long! Anyone, that runs that deserves a medal! 26 miles, is definitely more than a fun run. There was some fancy dress, but what struck me the most was that there was some real serious running going on. This was not a walk, and run, and walk, and walk, and stop, and chat, then walk, then run event, at all. These people were running! And the best thing was, that most of these persons were running for a worthy cause. And with limps, and cramps, these people ran their soles/souls out for cancer research, for children's hospitals and for all those other charitable causes. So of course, they all deserve a great big cheer! Kudos to them all, they did so well, and they've so motivated me, to dust off my running shoes and start prepping for next year!
